Turweston Aerodrome is therefore open for flying under the conditions given below. 

Update: from Tuesday 14th July 2020 it is mandatory to wear a face covering (except where medically exempt) while in the Tower building.

Since 23rd March 2020 (the start of ‘lockdown’) Turweston Flight Centre Ltd has been rigorously following government and CAA guidelines for businesses and individuals. We will continue to do so throughout the lockdown exit.

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers. We are doing all we can to reduce the risk of infection with the Covid 19 virus. Please help us by complying with all instructions and requests from our Company and staff.

We are very keen to welcome everyone back and ask that you bear with us as we all adjust to a new way of working.

Flying Operations

Flights of home-based and visiting aircraft are permitted under the government and CAA guidelines.

We will do our best to provide a full service including moving aircraft, refuelling and radio cover where it is safe and practical to do so.

Pilots wishing to fly hangared aircraft: Please give as much notice as you can. Let us know whether and how much fuel is required. Tell us when you plan to return so we can put your aircraft away.

Visiting pilots: Please email tower@turwestonflight.com or complete the PPR form  providing date of visit, aircraft registration, field of departure, ETA, ETD and refuelling requirements.

Fuel and landing fee payments: We have a mobile card terminal airside in the white Avgas bowser for landing fee and fuel payments. We are not accepting cash.

Flight Deck Cafe

The Cafe is open for seated dining. Please call to reserve a table. For full information please visit the Cafe page.


The toilets on the ground floor of Turweston Tower are open for use. Maintain social distance and please wash your hands thoroughly.

  • Flying operations and general administration of the aerodrome are managed by Turweston Flight Centre Ltd.
  • Operational hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:00 or sunset (08:00 to 20:00 by arrangement), Saturday 09:00 to 18:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 18:00 (last departure 16:00).
  • The Flight Deck Cafe is open every day. Hours are 09:00 to 16:00. Due to reduced capacity we strongly recommend you reserve a table. Please call 01280 705400 ext 3 to book.
  • Office hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00.
  • Prior Permission is required to land at Turweston Aerodrome. Please complete our PPR request form call us on 01280 705400 or email tower@turwestonflight.com.
  • Please ensure you have familiarised yourself with our circuit and avoid overflying the indicated areas, especially Syresham

Turweston Aerodrome has tarmac and grass runways

  • These are designated 09/27 and 09/27 Grass respectively
  • The circuits are 09 - left hand and 27 - right hand
  • The 09 threshold is displaced by 157m and the 27 threshold by 99m
  • The tarmac runway is 1,256m x 23m with a declared distance of 1,000m between thresholds

Daytime parking is available and overnight parking can also be arranged. We are always pleased to welcome new arrivals and can provide permanent hangarage or parking - space permitting. Please contact us for more information.

Customs and Special Branch
All pilots flying outside mainland UK are required to complete a General Aviation Report (GAR). The form can be downloaded below.

Deadlines for GAR submissions

Non EU traffic: AT LEAST 24 hours prior to arrival

EU traffic: AT LEAST 4 hours prior to arrival

Channel Island Traffic: AT LEAST 12 hours prior to arrival

Completed forms for pilots flying OUTSIDE the Common Travel area should be emailed to NCU; the UK Border Agency at Luton; and EGBT here.
